Keetje Kuipers has been a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, the Emerging Writer Lecturer at Gettysburg College, and a Bread Loaf Fellow. A recipient of the Pushcart Prize, her poems have appeared in such publications as American Poetry Review, Orion, West Branch, and Prairie Schooner. In Keetje completed her tenure as the Margery Davis Boyden Wilderness Writing Resident, which provided her with seven months of solitude in Oregon&#;s Rogue River Valley. She used her time there to complete work on her first book, Beautiful in the Mouth, which was awarded the A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize and was published by BOA Editions. Her second book, The Keys to the Jail, was published by BOA Editions in In , Keetje left her position as a tenured Associate Professor at Auburn University, where she was editor of Southern Humanities Review, to write full-time. Keetje Kuipers is the author of four books of poems, all from BOA Editions: LONELY WOMEN MAKE GOOD LOVERS (), winner of the Isabella Gardner Award; ALL ITS CHARMS (), which includes poems honored by publication in both The Pushcart Prize and Best American Poetry anthologies; THE KEYS TO THE JAIL (); and BEAUTIFUL IN THE MOUTH (), which was chosen by Thomas Lux as the winner of the A. Poulin, Jr. Poetry Prize. Keetje’s poetry and prose have appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Yale Review, Poetry Magazine, and over a hundred other publications. Keetje has been a Wallace Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, the Katharine Bakeless Nason Fellow in Poetry at Bread Loaf, the Emerging Writer Lecturer at Gettysburg College, and the recipient of multiple residency fellowships, including PEN Northwest’s Margery Davis Boyden Wilderness Writing Residency. Previously a board member at the National Book Critics Circle, Keetje is currently the Editor of Poetry Northwest, and teaches at universities and conferences around the world, including at the dual-language writers’ gathering Under the Volcano in Tepoztlán, Mexico. Her home is in Missoula, Montana, on the land of the Salish and Kalispel peoples and directly at the foot of the Rattlesnake Wilderness Area. She lives there with her w
