  • Ex-MP Breaks Down on Seeing Moi's Body [VIDEO]

Ex-MP Zipporah Kittony, who was close to retired President Daniel Arap Moi, broke down after viewing Mzee's body at Parliament Buildings on Saturday, February 8, 2020.

The former Kanu nominated senator could not hide her emotions as she broke into tears and had to be consoled by friends.

In a video posted by NTV, Kittony seemed to have frozen in her tracks and could not believe that Moi had passed away. She had to be pulled away to be calmed down as other Kenyans continued viewing Moi's body.

Kittony retired from active politics in 2017 but reiterated that she would remain an active Kanu member, a party which Moi led for decades.

"I have performed well in leadership duties assigned to me and time has come for others to serve," Kittony stated at her home in Cherangany, Trans Nzoia County as quoted by The Standard.

In 1988, Moi nominated her as an MP, a seat she would hold for years.

In 2007, she contested for the Cherangany parliamentary seat but lost. She was again nominated by Kanu as a senator after the 2013 General Election.

She is famous for her de
